The Survey Camp of 10 days (14/05/10 – 23/05/10)

The site survey for 5 days,
The processing data for a day,
The drawing plans for 3 days,
The PowerPoint slides a day.
As well as, the interview today!!!

All the above in 10 DAYS!!!,……ya pretty much the real working world for an engineer or perhaps for the real professional Land Surveying people. Well I not sure it is a bad luck or good luck being the last few groups for the interview. Being last means have to wait till the very last hour during the interview session but being last means, the panel interviewers will be tired out by the end of the day. So they didn’t ask any questions but listen to the hilarious presentation from one of my group member.

Can’t believe 10 days of Survey Camp passed so quickly. Though it was though and tiring as need gotta wake up early just to go to the site burn under the hot sun or even to process data and produced the plans within days but it is all worth it. At least I had fun and enjoying days after the working hours of survey. Had nice dinner most of the days around Gambang and Kuantan area, at least can enjoy the local Chinese food so any hard work really pays off.

DaY 1 oF SuRvEy cAmP

Wow, can’t believe I make it for my first day of Survey Camp with sunny hot day today. It was so hot till I feel like fainting while doing my traversing today. What to do gotta walk up the hill then down the hill since my group being the lucky one got such a site place. Well at least I come in pieces after day 1 and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day especially with the weather. Guess need to pray hard for a good weather every day during my site time. Well this is what the end of the end we got from the traversing result. Well as you can see my group is quite lucky as our total length at the site from the first station to last staion is only 375.623m!!!

ChiLL OuT aT KuAnTaN

Well thinking to relax myself before the tiring day tomorrow. I decided to go Kuantan for a chill out night. It was supposed to be just a normal dinner at Gambang. But it turned out to be a night out and also a movie time. Went out with Choy, Chin, Wai Mun and a senior, Siew Tian.

Dinner was great since I managed to eat ‘Bak Kut Teh’ at Kuantan. Taste not bad as well. Then we decided to go for a movie. Watching Iron Man 2 and ya the show is till midnight. So I just got back in uni not long ago. Tomorrow gotta gathered by 7.30am, so ya wish me luck in waking up early as well as surviving under the hot sun for 8 hours a day for the next 7 days. Till then,…nites people!!!

BaCk To UnI FoR BrIeFiNg

With late night sleep yesterday, yet I still need to wake up early today as Eric, Shang Qian and I are going back to uni in the morning. So went pick up Shang Qian and then had our lovely breakfast nearby his house area.

Then, straight back to unit and quickly do the check in and checkout procedure for the hostel as we can’t stay the same house and room during the camp period. At first given a random house, but by when we got in the house, all the rooms are in messed. So we gotta back to the office to request for another house which has better rooms in it. At first, I was gonna sleep alone in the room but then, Wen Hao saw my room has empty place, so he quickly move in that makes the Survey Camp house of 6 persons in 3 rooms. Shang Qian, Phooi Keat, Chee Suan, Chee Wei, Wen Hao and I. First time got the Chinese house feel, this is gonna be fun huh.

By then when everything and the cleaning was done, it is about time for us to go out for the first briefing which makes the Survey Camp is OFFICIALLY start. So eager and nervous especially about which members I gonna get. Hopefully, there is no changes compared the last I saw few weeks back during exam time.

Well well, they as they sort by groups, the first name will be the leader and they will call out the first name (LEADER) to get the file. As they called my name, I was like, I knew it I am gonna be the leader since the last saw, my name was at the top of the name list. Well here’s the file while LOTS of data form in it and my group members name on it.

BaCk To KuAnTaN

Waking up in the morning today and got a shock of my life. Got to know my laptop battery charger did not work out. Quickly get myself out to ASUS service center at Low Yat Plaza to change for the new battery charger which is still under warranty. Thankfully!!!

Pretty a rush day as I gotta pack my stuffs at the same time go out to change my battery charger. Luckily my bus trip today is at afternoon, so I still got some time. By time I got home it is noon and took my lunch. Lucky I am again, I got Elaine’s help sending me to Pekeliling bus stop.

And here goes my 3 hours trip again to Kuantan. Once got to Kuantan, Eric came pick me up to his house as I gotta pack my uni clothes for the camp as most of the clothes were in the big luggage bag I put in Eric’s house. So then we went dinner after some rest there and of all sudden, we asked Shang Qian to come out along for movie. Wanted to watch Robin Hood and we kept finding the right time at 3 different cinemas in Kuantan malls. End up we bought the midnight show time, taking some of our time for a drink at the nearby cafe before the show start.

Erm,…the movie not as nice as I thought would,..but anyway I gotta hurry again as I haven’t pack those clothes into my camp luggage bag since I just got back from the movie not long ago. Till then,…

F6 FrIeNdS MeEt Up

Of all the day in the week, I chose today to go out with my F6 friends. Tomorrow is the day I going back to Kuantan for Survey Camp and I still haven’t pack anything yet,…

aaargggghhh!!!,…

So today we went to school to visit the teachers and to keep some updates from teachers, friends and juniors. I for one, asked Irwyn to come along as he needs some advises and opinion about which pre-u study he should be going since he is in dilemma and undecided which to choose. After long and long chat here and there and waited for Ananthini and Sandip to come thus she and the girls wanna visit Dr. Puvan, so in the end to be quite late for lunch,..Finally after all done, we still took some time for some group pic as followings;

And ya so sorry to Irwyn that he can’t come along for lunch as my car is fully packed. So we decided to go lunch at Spaghetti in Mid Valley. Chat and chat and chat so long there till we can’t stand the air-condition in there as it was freaky cold, so we make our move out and find our way to get tickets for the show. Watched When In Rome again,..but still it is hilarious for me though it is the second time. By time we finished our show it is about dinner time and we decided to have our light dinner at Bangsar Village area, can’t recall the name of the place,…those steak like superb BIG portion with reasonable price and taste not bad too,...

And so after our dinner, we join the gang, Sandip & Shahrin for a drink and chat for a while before it is too late for us to go back since I gotta send 4 girls back home,…hahahahahaha

First was Farhana at Bangsar, and then was Ananthini at Ampang with Alice and apparently luck was not our side. We got road block and being asked to pull over to the side. What is so scary was, I accidentally head on the cone block and ya Anant forgot to bring her IC out. GREAT!!! Luckily we got student ID as identity proof as well,….hahahaha and ya lastly was Sara at Gombak area,….after long long tour around sending the girls back home, I finally arrived home and ya I haven’t pack my bag till now,…

HaNgInG OuT

Though just back few days, but dunno why I felt quite bored at home doing nothing. Supposed to have rest more for the week for coming Survey Camp but I decided to find Jyan at Kepong since she is about to make her move to Singapore for her new job. So consider the last hang out with her before she starts her new work in Singapore. So went to her house and hang out for a while and then we decided to go out for a haircut, guess she wants a new hairstyle before starting new work and me wanted a fresh hairstyle before starting my camp,…hahaahhahaha,…..so after the haircut we went to the food street of Kepong and pampered ourselves with the COOL & DELICIOUS ABC. Never had so tasty one with longan some more in it which quite similar taste to the one in Kampar. So, guess this is the only ABC I will eat in KL. Well that’s about for the evening day. Hopefully can meet up and hang out with her often after she started work in Singapore. Till then,..

Well ever since Jack is gone without return, my mom need some accompany especially when there are times she will be alone at house. So my bro to get her h@ppy (a Siberian Husky) as her Mother’s Day gift as well as to keep her company. Well one thing for sure, h@ppy is more quiet than Jack. She won’t simply run around the house to make a disaster yet. Well maybe because she is still small. So guess need to put a lot time to train her soon lo.

Had breakfast with Eric at Kuantan this morning before taking the bus. And here goes 3 hours bus trip back to KL,.....thanks for his help for sending me to the bus stop as well,...

And ya, I am finally backed home once again for my year sem break. Longest break I ever had since uni life. But I guess it is not official yet since I gotta back to uni again a week later for the Survey Camp.

Wonder how the Survey Camp gonna be. Session 1 batch began today morning and hopefully everything would be fine and not as tough and hard I thought it gonna be. Well let me recharge myself more during this week before heading back for the camp. And what a surprise I had when I got home.

NiGhT OuT aT KuAnTaN

Okay just not long sitting and resting at Eric’s house around 10 something just now, we then decided to go out for supper. Dim sum supper, and we went to a quite well known dim sum restaurant in Kuantan. Knowing, Choy, Chin, Ah Miao & Wai Mun also came to Kuantan for movie and they asked us to come along at Telok Cempedak again for a night time chat. So Eric and I went along and ya can’t believe we spent so long chit chatting at the beach till middle of the night. Yup I just freshly came back not long ago after my late night shower. Gosh tomorrow morning gotta wake up early for the bus trip hopefully I won’t oversleep. Till then, goodnight people!!!

Well today my last day staying here for the year. Time just passes with a blinked of an eye, cause I remembered it was last year I first entered this room during orientation week and now, today is my last day here. Packed everything done by evening just now and gonna put most of my stuffs to Eric’s house, so gonna go back to his house tonight and stay over before I am heading back home tomorrow morning. Well while waiting for him to pick me up now, so I take the time here to blog one last time in my room here. Gosh, I really gonna miss this long spacious room. Lastly,..

FaCiLiTiEs aT KK2

I just realised I didn’t not introduce some of the facilities available in my uni here. I mean in the hostel area, KK2. Well first is the washing machine where the hostel management newly replaced since end of last semester. Not only new but these washing machines come in handy with lots of setting and many washing methods.

I can’t survive without this,….


Well the reason simply because I only wash my clothes once a week.

Then this too,…


The RO water filter machine as I need daily clean water to consume that also I need to boil the water before drinking since the water got some kinda weird taste. Guess must be due to the water supply. Anyway guess today will be my last time using these both for this semester. Please stay in good condition even after my this year sem break!!!
